Dibond is a brand of metal that has become so popular that people use it as a classification product, like saying “Kleenex” instead of “tissue.” Its extreme durability and weather resistance allow for endless use cases, including commercial buildings. Because of this, it’s great for the outdoors because it’ll last and has a very distinguished, polished look, like an indoor sign, to make your branding POP.
What sets Dibond signs apart is their customizability. Each sign can be tailored to your unique needs and preferences, from the features to the finish options. Whether you’re looking for a large outdoor sign to hang above your business or a smaller indoor sign, Dibond has you covered. The full Dibond sheets, available in 48 “ x 96” and specially ordered at 60 “ x 120” for large outdoor signs, offer ample space for your custom design. Additionally, Dibond sign material can be crafted into custom sign shapes beyond the standard square or rectangular designs, enhancing the visual impact of your business's signage. The benefits and versatility of printing dibond signs include their durability, a wide array of colors and finishes, and the ability to tailor them to specific needs.
Dibond is not just a fantastic product; it’s also reasonably priced, making it a smart investment for your business. Its versatility, durability, and affordability make it one of the most popular signs in the world. The fact that it can also be two-sided further enhances its value, allowing you to market your message or brand effectively. Two-sided Dibond signs are perfect for outdoor uses, such as real estate and directional signs, while one-sided signs are ideal for restrooms or for displaying menu items.
Custom Dibond signs and most outdoor business signs will be mounted with standard drill holes .25” in each corner and fastened with screws or bolts. However, you can opt for standoff hardware for a more elegant and unique feel. Standoffs are a bolt and screw system that allows for an off-the-wall float mount through .41” predrill holes in each sign corner. Check out brushed aluminum signs for an upgraded finish! Smaller dibond signs can be easily hung using double-sided tape or adhesive velcro.
Additional types of standard long-term Dibond mounting options are as follows;
Freestanding on a post (drill holes in the top and bottom in the center)
Mounted with drill holes between two poles (drill holes in all four corners)
VHB acrylic tape (great for outdoor mounting)
French Cleats
Edge-grip standoffs
Dual-Grip Sign Standoff
Figuring out if these are right for you is straightforward. Typically, the answer is YES because custom Dibond signs are affordable and can be used for various uses with excellent outdoor and indoor capabilities.
Dibond signs are rigid composites with lightweight yet durable surfaces. They can be created through straight cuts or three-dimensional shapes. The unique feature of Dibond signs is the polyethylene core, which helps create a thick, sturdy sign without the added weight that a pure aluminum interior would create. This core also provides excellent insulation, making Dibond signs suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
18w x 12h
24w x 18h
30w x 20h
These are available in both ¼ and ⅛ inch thickness. The recommended size depends on your needs, so talk to our representatives online if you're unsure. Generally, outdoor signage should be more prominent since people typically see them further away, so the 30x20 is ideal. In contrast, you can get the exact size for indoor if put in ample space, but usually, the 24x18 is suitable for relevant messaging like menus, while 18x12 labels small things like restroom signs.
Using advanced printing techniques, dibond printing involves applying your favorite images, text, logos, and other designs onto Dibond signs. We offer UV digital printing, which provides high-quality, vibrant results. Depending on the desired effect, the printing process can be customized to print on one or both sides of the sign. Dibond printing is renowned for producing sharp, vivid colors and a durable finish. It is ideal for businesses, organizations, and individuals looking to create eye-catching signs and displays. With Dibond signs, you can ensure your message stands out and remains visible for years.
Creating effective Dibond signs involves custom design and artwork tailored to your specific needs. Businesses and individuals can collaborate with our in house graphic designers to develop unique, eye-catching designs that reflect your brand identity and messaging. The design process typically includes selecting appropriate colors, fonts, and images or logos that align with the brand’s visual identity—additionally, ensuring that the design is optimized for the chosen sign size and shape. Custom Dibond signs allow for a high degree of personalization, enabling you to create signage that truly stands out and effectively communicates your message.
Traditionally, you see most Dibond signs as squares or rectangles. However, since we allow full customization, you can do any shape you want, including contour cuts (to match your sign design/message tightly) or anything else you can think of as long as they make sense with the sign size you'd like to order. Get your business noticed with this extremely durable substrate!
With a special cut, the design style is entirely custom to the shape, with no border on the exterior; they may have drill holes in special sizes or even unique placement of holes. The special cut allows you to control the shape of the sign's outside and inside cut paths, giving you complete freedom to create a unique and eye-catching design for your business signage.
Halo cuts, or contour cuts, offer a unique design style for your Dibond signs. The design style is any custom shape, with a border (in most cases white) around the outside edge of the signage. This border adds a distinctive look to your signs, making them stand out and catch the eye of potential customers.
Oval cuts are similar to the circle cuts above; however, the finish is oval. There is no additional artwork set, and we ask that you include a .25" bleed or upload a rectangular design with colors flooded edge to edge of the artboard.
A rounded corner is a finish option that allows you to change the exterior shape of your design without making any alterations to your art file. The round corner radial bend options are as follows:
1" All Corners
3/4" All Corners
1/2" All Corners
1/4" All Corners
3/8" All Corners

Extreme heat or cold can negatively impact the lifespan of your Dibond signs. Even the duration of time through the day the signage is exposed to direct sunlight can affect the brightness of the original colors. If you'd like more protection, we always suggest our UV gloss coating.

A standoff looks like a complicated version of a screw, and it is. It's a separator that's threaded. What are standoffs? They come in different lengths to raise one material over another. They consist of a wall screw, barrel, and cap, usually made of aluminum. Please take a closer look in detail with images at our blog post.
